first day of fall : 9.22.14

And so, it begins. Today is the official first day of fall. You, fair reader, cannot begin to fathom my enthusiasm for this season (I’ve been dressing the part for about for 2 weeks now). Transitionary weather is the worst. I’m never sure what to wear, because the weather likes to flip 180’s from morning to afternoon. Just on Friday, I went to class comfortable, in a sweater, leggings, and boots only to resurface hot as Hade’s left ball sac. Anyways, there are many reasons to be excited about fall. Firstly, the return of the sweaters + leggings + riding boots combo. It’s a wonderful, equestrian trend that stole my soul. This, in addition to the return of all things PUMPKIN SPICE (I might be a basic bitch, sorry not sorry) and the return of deep, vampy lip and nail colors. Thanksgiving and Black Friday among the excitement, I have to say…Fall, my body is ready.

With that said, here are my all time favorite boots.

The brown leather contrasts the gray fabric yet compliments it perfectly. The dual tones here compliment virtually all earthy, fall tones seen in most outfits. The Tory Burch-esque gold accent finishes it off, giving the boots a more expensive look. These are by Tommy Hilfiger, and I believe I actually scored them for $70.00 at Marshalls.

On my way home from class today, I found the perfect minimalistic transitionary weather outfit. I liked it so much, I took it home with me!

Model Rebecca here paired a simple pair of jeans rolled up with a long sleeved taupe long sleeved v-neck. She finishes off the look with a knit gray sweater, belt, and Sperry top siders.

sweater : target, 17$

long sleeve v-neck:  forever 21, $5

belt: vintage

Rebecca is all about tough details when accessorizing her backpack. LOVE. Unfortunately, they were gifts, so I have no idea where to get these from.

This outfit is perfect for the bipolar weather we’re experiencing at the moment! Bex really knows how to pair comfort and style into an effortless look–college edition.
